USE AND ANALYSIS OF EUPHEMISMS IN LITERATURE TEXTBOOKS

This article examines the role and impact of euphemisms in school textbooks, analyzing how these linguistic tools shape students' understanding of sensitive or complex topics. Euphemisms, often used to soften or obscure uncomfortable situations, influence emotions and attitudes by presenting information in a more pleasant or socially acceptable manner. The study identifies common patterns in euphemistic language by conducting a comprehensive analysis of various subject textbooks, evaluates their impact on educational content, and discusses their effect on students' critical thinking and worldview. By analyzing texts in literature textbooks, the research highlights how euphemisms can perpetuate misconceptions or contribute to the distortion of facts.
