POETIC CONSTRUCTION IN 20TH CENTURY AMERICAN REALIST SHORT STORY: A QUESTION OF FORM AND CONTENT

Like any literature, the national literature of the USA of the 20th century has its own history of the emergence, improvement and development of the short story genre, development factors, as well as a number of features that stand out on the world stage. The short story belongs to the epic type, covers the range of works between the genres of the story and the novel, the roots of the story genre in the national literature are due to the contribution of sensitive writers such as E. Poe and W. Irving in the era of romanticism, the foundations of the novel genre in the period of enlightenment are C. B. Brown, F. Taking into account that it is directly related to Cooper's services, we can understand that the basics of storytelling did not appear in the 20th century. In this article, we will discuss the characteristics of American realist stories in terms of form and content.
