This article examines Mahmud az-Zamakhshari’s reflections on reason and intellect, based on the interpretation of verses concerning reason in his tafsir "Al-Kashshaf" and the logical arguments found in his work "Subtle Expressions". Furthermore, the article elaborates on Zamakhshari’s key perspectives on the concept of reason, including the nature and functional roles of consciousness, as well as the role of reason as evidence in the pursuit of truth.
