DISABILITY AND ITS HISTORY. SOCIAL PROTECTION OF THE DISABLED IN UZBEKISTAN

The purpose of the study is to provide a historical analysis of the activities of social protection organizations in Uzbekistan, in particular in the Navoi region. The research uses a source-based, structural-functional, comparative-historical method. The study of the problem was carried out according to chronological sequence, comparative analysis, regional approach, as well as using archival materials. In particular, attitudes towards people with disabilities in various periods of world history, changes in attitudes towards people with physical and mental disabilities during the period of independence of our country and the reforms implemented in recent years are compared. The structural functions and tasks of social protection organizations such as the National Agency for Social Protection, khokimiyats of regions, districts, cities, as well as mahalla committees and others are noted.
