A great deal of work has been done in studying the history of ancient and old Samarkand. In particular, the scientific justification of Samarkand's 2750-year history has been provided. However, the study of Samarkand's history and the activities of scholars who have worked in this area have not been sufficiently reflected. This article briefly discusses the history of Samarkand city historiography, which is one of the most important and relevant issues in historical science, as well as the contributions of Vyatkin in this field.
