This study analyzes data from 2023 to 2026 to develop renewable energy sources and increase energy efficiency in Uzbekistan. It focuses on planned projects, including the construction of wind, solar and hydroelectric power plants, and improving the country's energy infrastructure. The results show that the introduction of at least 8 wind power plants, 10 solar photovoltaic power plants and 15 new hydroelectric power plants would significantly reduce Uzbekistan's carbon footprint and ensure sustainable energy production. An analysis of energy efficiency by economic sectors and regions reveals key imbalances. For example, the coal and lignite mining sector has the highest energy efficiency (37.1%), while forestry and wood processing has the lowest (0.2%). Regional imbalances highlight Navoi region as the leader in energy efficiency (16.2%), while other regions need significant modernization. The results show significant economic and social benefits, including reduced energy costs, reduced import dependency, and the creation of thousands of new jobs. In addition, the study highlights the potential for improving access to energy in rural areas and promoting regional equity. By adopting renewable energy technologies, Uzbekistan aims to increase its environmental sustainability and adapt to global efforts to combat climate change.
