Abstract

This article presents a philosophical analysis of the concept of being, the theory of “Wahdat al-Wujud” (Unity of Being), and the views of its founder, Ibn Arabi. The author examines the issue of being in the context of the philosophical perspectives of Al-Farabi and Ibn Arabi, uncovering the formation and development of these concepts within Islamic philosophy and Sufi teachings. Additionally, the article, based on Ibn Arabi's treatise “Risala on Being”, explores the philosophical aspects of the concepts of being and non-being, as well as the relationship between divine and material existence. In the context of Ibn Arabi's teachings, it is emphasized that the understanding of being is closely interconnected with a person’s understanding of their own essence. The significance of these ideas for the development of Islamic philosophy and Sufi thought is also highlighted.
