Modal concepts are lexicalized because they form the basis of human knowledge and thought. Their use in language and speech reveals the psychological and philosophical foundations of the fundamental connection between language and thought. Modal words are divided into purely modal and functionally modal, each of which has its own historical forms.
The use of modal verbs is mainly divided into two categories: “epistemic” and “deontic”. Gnostic modalities perform the function of making judgments about the probability of the existence or non-existence of something. Aletheic modality, like epistemic modality, is based on the ability to perceive sentences as representations that enter into certain logical relations. Rational modality and existential modality are clearly reflected in politeness.
