This article studies the use of periphrasis as a stylistic device in the genetically incompatible English and Uzbek languages. The article analyzes the use of logical and figurative periphrasis as a stylistic device based on examples from various texts. The stylistic functions of periphrasis in expressing certain types of names are highlighted.
