The article discusses a system of indicators for assessing the competitiveness of the transport system and their practical application. The study evaluates the competitiveness of regional transport systems based on indicators such as the number of transport enterprises, workforce size, efficiency, freight and passenger transport volumes. Using the example of Surkhandarya region and its districts, the calculation and comparison of indicators are researched. The article also proposes a methodology for determining the efficiency and competitiveness of the transport system using relative indicators compared to a benchmark region and expert evaluation methods. The research results are aimed at developing transport infrastructure and improving socio-economic efficiency.
