Abstract

This article discusses the basic principles of the European Union law and their significance. The basic principles are described as the source of the European Union law. The basic principles of the European Union law are classified based on various criteria. Among them, the main emphasis is placed on the basic principles arising from the legal nature of the European Union. The content and essence of the principle of the primacy of the EU law over national law, the principle of direct application of the European Union law, the principle of legal integration, the principle of equality, the principles of loyalty to the Communities and solidarity are revealed.
