Learning foreign languages can not only help us understand what we humans have in common, but it also helps us understand the diversity that underlies not only our languages, but also our ways of constructing and organizing knowledge, as well as many different realities. This study emphasizes the need to find a new approach to teaching students in the specialty “Theory and Practice of Translation”, taking into account the formation of intercultural competence. Understanding social relationships and how other cultures work is the basis for successful communication and the primary task of a translator.
