This article analyzes the geographical location and the history of archaeological research of the Afrosiyab monument, which is considered one of the ancient settlements in Samarkand region. The development of painting art in the early Middle Ages on the scale of Central Asia was shown in Afrosiab wall paintings, and information was also given about the rulers of Sogd and their way of life.
