Abstract

In today's modern world, consumers of education must be equipped with 21st century skills, in
particular, competencies related to solving real-life problems, in order to ensure competitiveness in the global
economy. The PBL approach is a convergent mixed method to identify students' 21st century skills, including the
collaborative, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills of the 4C model embedded in current next-generation
textbooks. In this article, the importance of project-based education, convergent method in teaching mathematics
in primary grades is highlighted.
