There are a number of issues awaiting resolution in our country, and the regulation of copyright-legal relations, in particular, the study of processes related to the collective management of copyright rights and the author's contract in its protection is an urgent task. Therefore, the article focuses on some current problems related to the improvement of this institution, international standards for copyright protection and a comparative legal analysis of national legislation, as well as the opinions of scholars from Uzbekistan and other countries. Since the current legislation does not directly regulate the content of author's contracts, this issue is left to the discretion of the parties. Therefore, in determining the rights and obligations of the parties, the established practice of concluding author's contracts is relied on, and this practice is still being successfully used today. Proposals and recommendations of scientific and practical significance for the development of copyright and author's contracts have been put forward.
