The article is devoted to the competency of the pedagogical leader in the modern education process. The components and functional tasks of pedagogical competence were comprehensively analyzed, the professional and personal characteristics on which the teacher's competences are based were studied. The article considers suggestions for optimizing some management and pedagogical approaches for this category of professors, which in turn should affect the quality of the educational process.
