The scientific article presents the theoretical and methodological foundations of pedagogical control in sports training. It is known that physical education and sports contribute to the formation of a comprehensively developed personality. Pedagogical control of the physical education process is an integral part of the educational process in a general education institution and includes activities aimed at optimizing, safe and effective physical education. Pedagogical control is a necessary component of the pedagogical process, ensuring timely determination of the level of functional capabilities of the body and the adequacy of motor activity. Since sports training is a pedagogical process, it uses general principles of training and education. At the same time, there are certain principles of training that reflect its features, which are the maximum development of physical abilities and the presence of competitions.
