FEATURES OF FAMILY AND MARRIAGE RELATIONS IN TURKESTAN AND DEMOGRAPHIC PROCESSES IN THE REGION AFTER THE INVASION OF THE RUSSIAN EMPIRE

The purpose of the study is to reveal the activities of the civil registry office system in Turkestan, including the formation of civil registration bodies, and the processes of improving its activities. The main objective of this article is to highlight and analyze the demographic processes that took place in the sphere of family and marriage relations in Turkestan, to analyze the formation of civil registration authorities in Turkestan and the creation of its legal system. Before the invasion of the Russian Empire and under colonial conditions, the population growth of Turkestan had all the basic characteristics of societies dominated by feudal relations of production, and the lives and livelihoods of the people were determined by traditional institutions and the framework of religious ethics.
