The article pays attention to the specifics of the representation of the concepts «husband» and «wife» in texts of various types on the materials of «Domostroy», as well as the collection «Proverbs of the Russian people» by V.I. Dahl. The collective ways of conceptualization of masculinity and femininity, presented in the paroemias, and the peculiarities of the individual author's understanding of the corresponding concepts are revealed.
