The article deals with the development of international archaeological research of the Samarkand Sogd during the independence of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The author emphasizes the role of the archeology of independent Uzbekistan, which serves the nation's interests, proceeds from the needs of its cultural and spiritual life, the idea of national independence, and carries out its activities. The directions of archaeological work in the study of the history of Samarkand as a result of joint international archaeological expeditions and research have also been determined.
