The article examines the layers of meaning of phraseological units and their relationship with metaphor
and metonymy. The denotative and connotative layers of phraseologisms are analyzed and the role of metaphor
and metonymy in their formation is shown. The study aims to shed light on the linguistic and cultural significance
of these units.
