This article analyzes the issues of forming knowledge, skills and qualifications in students on the content-logical statement of the essay. Effective methods are considered to ensure the structure, content integrity, consistency and logical coherence of the essay. Also, exercises, problem tasks and innovative approaches are proposed to develop students' written speech. This article is aimed at developing essay writing competence in the language teaching process and includes useful methodological recommendations for teachers and methodologists.
