This scientific article analyzes the issues of demographic changes and economic development of Samarkand region. The article discusses the population of the region, its structure, changes in the labor market and economic activity. The reforms implemented to ensure the economic stability of Samarkand region and increase the standard of living of the population are considered. Also, the social and economic problems arising from the demographic changes of the region and ways to solve them are analyzed.
