This article discusses the scientific essence of terminology in linguistics, its lexical-semantic and
structural properties, its functional role in scientific language, and the criteria for its use in specialized fields.
Terms are the main means of expressing concepts inherent in each scientific field, and their accuracy, stability,
monosemanticity, and systematicity in linguistics require special scientific attention. The article also analyzes the
formation of terminological units in multilingual conditions, the levels of assimilation, and their linguistic typology.
