This article analyzes the historical and philosophical development of ideas about the concept of the person in Western philosophy. It explores various approaches of philosophical schools and thinkers to issues such as the essence of the individual, freedom, consciousness, and the relationship with society — from ancient times to contemporary Western thought. Special attention is given to existentialism, personalism, and perspectives within classical and post-classical philosophy.
