LEGAL STATUS OF SPORTS ORGANIZATIONS IN UZBEKISTAN AND THEIR FINANCIAL INDEPENDENCE

This article provides a comprehensive analysis of the legal status and financial independence of sports organizations in Uzbekistan. The study reveals discrepancies between the existing legal framework and the actual operations of sports federations and clubs. Although these organizations are officially recognized as non-governmental non-profit entities, in practice, most of them operate under the direct or indirect influence of state institutions. Limited funding sources, underdeveloped sponsorship and commercial activities, and a lack of financial transparency are identified as key obstacles to the independent and sustainable functioning of sports organizations. The article also proposes legal and institutional reforms based on international best practices to improve the operational capacity of such organizations. The findings substantiate the necessity of legal reforms for the modernization of Uzbekistan’s sports sector.
