THREATS OF INFORMATION IPERIALISM

In this article, information imperialism appears as a new threat in the current globalization process, which seriously overshadows the political, economic and cultural independence of national states. Powerful countries are trying to control and own the mind of society by controlling the flow of information using the information resources and technologies that have been created, and in some sense they are succeeding. This situation leads to the weakening of national and world-recognized democratic values, the strengthening of authoritarian ideological influence, and the increase of information asymmetry. At the same time, we consider cyber security issues, protection of national information space, development of information security policy and reduction of threats of information imperialism by increasing information literacy of the population to be an urgent factor of our time.
