In the first half of the 11th century, political and military events in the regions of Turan and Khorasan gradually altered the balance of power in Central Asia. This article analyzes the causes and course of the Battle of Dandanaqan, the military operations conducted, the structural and functional weaknesses of the Ghaznavids, and the role of the Seljuks in establishing a new state. Based on primary sources (Bayhaqi, Gardizi, and others), the military, political, and economic consequences of the battle are presented. The study results indicate that the victory at Dandanaqan led to the Ghaznavids losing control over Khorasan and directly contributed to the formation of the Great Seljuk state.
