TECHNOLOGICAL PROGRESS AND TRANSFORMATION OF CULINARY TRADITIONS IN THE RURAL AREAS OF KARAKALPAKSTAN (1960-1980)

Abstract

The article examines the transformation of culinary traditions in the rural areas of Karakalpakstan between the 1960s and 1980s, driven by technological progress and modernization of household infrastructure. The impact of introducing gas and electric stoves, refrigerators, meat grinders, and new kitchen utensils on food preparation and storage methods, as well as on dietary changes, is analyzed. It is emphasized that technological innovations have made homework easier, accelerated the cooking process, and expanded the possibilities for culinary experiments. Based on statistical data, the growth in the purchase of cultural and household goods by the rural population, in particular refrigerators, is shown. It is noted that access to new technologies and household appliances has improved living conditions and increased the level of comfort in rural families.
