IMPROVING THE TEACHING METHODOLOGY OF NUMERAL AND ADJECTIVE WORD CLASSES IN UZBEK LANGUAGE BASED ON POS TAGGING

Abstract

This study analyzes the pedagogical possibilities of using POS (Part-of-Speech) tagging in teaching numerals and adjectives in Uzbek language lessons. The aim of the research is to develop a POS-tagging methodology to effectively explain the grammatical features of numerals and adjectives to learners and ensure their correct application in texts.
Within the scope of the study, a text corpus was prepared using POS-tagging tools, and learners’ grammatical errors and comprehension levels were assessed through pre-test and post-test methods. The methodology includes integrating automatic tagging tools with manual verification. The results of the experiment indicate that teaching numerals and adjectives based on POS tagging is more effective than traditional methods and significantly enhances learners’ metalinguistic awareness and their ability to identify errors.
The thesis provides practical recommendations such as interactive lessons, digital exercises, and error analysis. Based on the research findings, a practical guide for teachers and educational institutions on teaching numerals and adjectives using POS tagging has been developed.
