This article explores the legal nature and specific characteristics of consulting services as an object of civil rights. Drawing on the scholarly views of prominent experts such as D.I. Stepanov and E.G. Shablova, the study analyzes the features of consulting as a "pure" service, the will-forming role of information, and the issues of the performer's liability. Based on the experience of foreign jurisdictions such as Germany and Japan, the distinction between the "obligation of means" and the "obligation of result" is revealed within the consulting sphere. Finally, scientific and practical proposals for improving national legislation are put forward.
