IN THE FORMATION OF MUSEUMS AND TOURISM COMPETENCE OF SURKHANDARDO REGION: THE PLACE OF THE TERMIZ MUSEUM OF LOCAL STUDIES

Abstract

This article covers the tourism potential of Surkhandarya region, its historical and cultural heritage, and the process of formation and development of the Termez Museum of Local Lore. The article presents analytical views on the cultural and political changes that occurred in Uzbekistan at the beginning of the 20th century, the expansion of local lore movements, and the establishment of a museum system based on scientific sources. In particular, the importance of rare exhibits found as a result of archaeological research in the Surkhandarya region by scientists such as G.V. Parfyonov, M.E. Masson, S.K. Kabanov in enriching the Termez Museum of Local Lore fund is emphasized. The article also analyzes the role of museum activities in the development of tourism in the region, preservation of historical memory, and spiritual education of the younger generation.
