Abstract

The article examines the provisions relating to the core obligations on ensuring transparency as enshrined in the World Trade Organization agreements on trade in goods and trade in services. It analyses the importance of transparency as a factor in the development of global trade, as well as the main mechanisms for ensuring transparency in the regulation of international trade at the national and multilateral levels, and the key obligations of WTO Members in this field. Particular attention is paid to the specific features of the Republic of Uzbekistan’s transparency-related commitments in the context of negotiations on accession to the WTO. At the stage of the Republic of Uzbekistan’s accession to the World Trade Organization, issues related to the implementation of the Organization’s norms on ensuring transparency and notification procedures into national legislation are analyzed.
