CHANGES IN DEMOGRAPHY AND CLASSIFICATION OF URBAN PLACES (IN THE EXAMPLE OF KASHKADARYA REGION)

This article discusses the demographic situation and classification of the cities of Kashkadarya region in the 1970s-1990s. In particular, the factors affecting the growth of the population of regional cities in the 70s-80s of the 20th century, gender, ethnic composition and demographic situation are presented. At the same time, the classification of oasis cities for 1970, 1979, 1989 and 1990 was developed in the form of tables and diagrams. During the research years, cities were divided into the largest, large, large, medium and small cities, and it was proved that regional cities fall into the category of small, medium and large cities, consisting mainly of small cities. Also, information is provided about the division of cities into cities of republican, regional, district subordination, and oasis cities subordinate to the region and district in this category, which are analyzed in detail.
