In this article, based on historical-comparative methods, the ethnic composition of the population of the Fergana Valley from the beginning of the 19th century to the beginning of the 21st century, the territorial distribution of ethnic groups, and their ethnodemographic characteristics are analyzed. The dynamics of ethnic processes in the valley, changes during the period of Russian colonialism, the Soviet regime, and the years of independence are considered. The features of the location and demographic indicators of the main ethnic groups - Uzbeks, Tajiks, Kyrgyz, Russians, and others - are explained.
