В статье всесторонне анализируется история понятия самоорганизации и ее философские основы, а также рассматриваются научные, мифологические и философские истоки зарождения идеи самоорганизации. Автор рассмотрел эволюцию представлений о хаосе и порядке в различных мировоззренческих системах (мифологии, западной и восточной философии) и исследовал их место в человеческом мышлении и развитии общества.
