This article analyzes the financial sustainability and adequacy of global pension systems based on the
findings of the Allianz Global Pension Report 2025. It assesses the current status of pension systems across various
countries and highlights the importance of achieving a balance between sustainability and adequacy. The study
explains the methodology of the Allianz Pension Index (API), explores the strengths and weaknesses of different
pension systems, and emphasizes the critical role of labor market conditions. Case studies of successful reforms in
countries like Denmark and Indonesia, as well as challenges faced by Uzbekistan and Sri Lanka, are examined. The
article also provides practical policy recommendations for pension reform, including gradual increases in
retirement age linked to demographic changes, the development of multi-pillar pension models, and
improvements in labor market inclusiveness.
