This article analyzes the views of Ibn Rushd, a major representative of medieval Islamic philosophy, on freedom. The scientific work examines Ibn Rushd's concepts of human free will, the possibility of reasonable choice and freedom in society within the framework of his metaphysical, moral and political views. He also highlights the philosopher's attitude to the Kadari and Jabari movements and his approach to maintaining a balance between philosophy and religion, including his political views related to Plato's philosophy. The article outlines Ibn Rushd's understanding of freedom as a concept that is realized by limited but responsible actions through divine laws and reason. However, the connection of these views with modern moral and political theories is also considered.
