The article is devoted to the analysis of the relationship between tradition and moral universalism in the context of philosophical comparative studies. It is shown that tradition acts not only as a form of preserving moral norms, but also as a dynamic space for the formation of moral meanings, in which universal values receive a specific cultural embodiment. Based on the comparison of Western and Eastern ethical concepts, the dialogical character of moral universalism, which is formed in the process of intercultural philosophical interaction, is substantiated. It is concluded that tradition and universalism are not opposed to each other, but complement each other, providing stability and semantic depth of moral thinking in the context of globalization.
