Системы земельного кадастра служат важным инструментом управления и регулирования земельными ресурсами, обеспечения прозрачности прав собственности и эффективного планирования городского и сельского развития. Традиционно эти системы полагались на ручные или полуавтоматические процедуры, которые становятся все более неэффективными и подвержены неопределенностям из-за быстрой урбанизации, роста населения и роста экономической активности.
