This article analysis of features of aphorisms in English and Uzbek languages are comparatively analyzed. Conciseness, generalized meaning, implicit (hidden) content, metaphorical structure and evaluative semantics of aphorisms are studied as the main object of research. The results of the research show that pragmatic and rational semantics take precedence in English aphorisms, while moral, spiritual and linguo-cultural semantics take the leading place in Uzbek aphorisms.
