LEXICOGRAPHIC INTERPRETATIONS OF MERONYMIC RELATIONAL WORDS IN ENGLISH AND UZBEK LANGUAGES

This article analyzes lexicographic interpretations of words that express meronymic relations which embodying the meaning of part-whole in English and Uzbek. The study explores definitions of meronyms in dictionaries, their classification in terms of meaning, and methods of translation. Also, in the lexicographic (dictionary) system of meronymic units, the semantic properties are analyzed in a comparative way, determining the role of the two languages in the lexical system. The result of the work is a summary of the principles of interpretation of meronymic words in English and Uzbek and their problems of translation.
