METHODOLOGY FOR DEVELOPING THE PROFESSIONAL COMPETENCE OF STUDENTS IN DETERMINING THE ACCELERATION OF GRAVITY BY A PHYSICAL PENDULUM

This article describes an experiment to determine the acceleration of free fall – the acceleration of gravity “g” using a physical pendulum. The work analyzes various methods for increasing accuracy, taking into account the oscillation period, the distance from the axis of rotation and the moment of inertia. In particular, factors such as reducing measurement errors, experimental repeatability, statistical approach and selection of optimal pendulum shapes are considered. The value of “g” determined based on the experimental results is compared with the theoretical value and the reliability of the experimental results is analyzed. This approach is important in developing scientific experiment skills and improving measurement culture in students.
