The main task of computer linguistics is to solve linguistic problems with the help of computer programs. The software that solves the problem of a certain direction of linguistics includes a certain knowledge base about the language. This is considered part of the linguistic supply. This article discusses the concept of linguistic support, the composition of linguistic support tools, which type of database is more effective to use for which programs. The linguistic knowledge base used in machine translation is discussed separately.
