Abstract

This article explores the construction of one of Uzbekistan’s major infrastructure projects following independence — the Tashguzar–Boysun–Kumkurgan railway — and its significance for the region’s socio-economic development. The railway not only facilitated freight and passenger transportation by connecting Surkhandarya region with the central parts of the country, but also contributed to economic stability, job creation, and regional integration. The article analyzes the strategic importance of the project, stages of its implementation, and its impact on public welfare.
