Abstract

This article examines the main themes and the unique appearance and significance of the characters in Margaret Drabble’s "The milestone". The study of the characters’ struggles and triumphs in the play not only reflects the social pressures of the 1960s, but also resonates with contemporary debates around feminism and identity. Through a close examination of the play, the article explores how Drabble’s unique style and thematic concerns contribute greatly to the work’s enduring significance in contemporary literature.
