FUNCTIONAL APPROACH METHODS FOR TEACHING ENGLISH IN PRIMARY GRADES

This article comprehensively analyzes the importance of the functional approach in teaching English in primary grades. The pedagogical foundations, didactic principles and practical application methods of developing functional literacy are studied in depth. The role of using works of art, interactive technologies and communicative methods in the educational process is scientifically substantiated. Taking into account the age characteristics of primary school students, effective methods for developing their communication skills in English are recommended. Also, specific methodological recommendations are given for the formation of functional literacy of students in the modern education system, and ways to increase the effectiveness of education are proposed in integration with innovative technologies.
