Abstract

The article examines alternative dispute resolution methods, with a particular focus on the legal nature and practical application of mediation. It highlights the main advantages of mediation, such as confidentiality, flexibility, party control, and cost-effectiveness. A comparative analysis is also provided between mediation and other ADR mechanisms, including negotiation, conciliation, neutral evaluation, and arbitration. Special attention is paid to the development of mediation in Uzbekistan, the main provisions of national legislation, and the rights and obligations of mediators and parties involved.
