Abstract

This article provides a scholarly analysis of Abu Ali Ibn Sina’s Ash-Shifa (“The Book of Healing”) and its impact on the history of Islamic philosophy, kalam, Sufism, and Latin European thought. The study examines the influence of Ash-Shifa in the fields of logic, ontology, epistemology, natural sciences, and psychology, as well as its intellectual contributions to subsequent Muslim and Western thinkers. In addition, the article examines Ibn Sina’s philosophical connections with prominent scholars such as Ibn Rushd, Suhrawardi, al-Ghazali, Fakhr al-Din al-Razi, and Ibn al-‘Arabi. The process of translating the work into Latin from the 12th century onwards and its subsequent penetration into medieval European philosophy is also discussed based on historical sources.
