THE POLICY OF THE SOVIET GOVERNMENT ON THE ESTABLISHMENT OF SOVIET REPUBLICS IN TURKESTAN

This article examines key aspects of the consistent policy pursued by the Soviets, who came to power following the coup d’état carried out by the Left Socialist Revolutionaries and the Bolsheviks on October 25, 1917, aimed at establishing “national” Soviet republics in Turkestan. Based on the contextual conditions of the historical period, the study analyzes the gradual political transformations implemented by the Soviet government between 1917 and 1924 in this direction, as well as the subsequent process that led to the division of Turkestan into several “national” Soviet republics. The analysis relies on existing scholarly literature and archival documentary sources.
